The Groundshield self shuttering system relies on a series of L shaped components that are made from high grade EPS. These are carefully placed around the perimeter, a second layer then overlaps the perimeter elements, this prevents movement when the concrete is poured in.
This shows how the perimeter is laid out with the corners and straight L-elements. The peastones are levelled accurately with a laser. On each side a L-element is cut to fit to achieve the right dimension accordingly to the plans. Now the first layer of EPS 100mm is ready to be installed.
This picture shows the plastic 180mm pins that are used to fix the EPS sheets.
This shows the metal fixings we use to fix the L-elements to each other. They are hammered down flush with a rubber hammer.
The various utility pipes are installed within the hardcore and layers of EPS.
Here we see the loops for under-floor heating have been placed according to the architects drawing and specification.
The rebar and mesh are supported by spacers and placed on top of EPS and under-floor heating.
This shows a gulley
Now we can see the slab after the concrete has been poured.
